Bud Light Gives Away Free Beer Amid Boycotts
Majority of Americans Reject Corporations Politicizing Culture
Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world's largest brewer, has been facing cultural backlash and heavy financial losses following their decision to advertise with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney. This partnership has been criticized for being politically insensitive, causing the company to lose billions of dollars.
As a result, Anheuser-Busch InBev has been forced to lower its prices, offering Bud Light at a heavily discounted price of nearly 41 cents per can in some Costcos as of May 1st. Conservative commentator Ryan Fournier recently shared photos of his local Costco selling clearance 36-packs of Bud Light for $14.97, highlighting the company's struggle to maintain sales.
In an attempt to please distributors who are affected by the company's losses, Anheuser-Busch InBev has also started giving away free cases of Bud Light to distributors and their employees. This decision has been met with mixed reactions from distributors, with some expressing frustration over the company's lack of understanding of their clientele.
One distributor shared his concerns in a viral video posted online, saying that the company's actions are "heartbreaking" because he cannot feed his family when people don't buy the beer. While Anheuser-Busch InBev's attempts to boost sales through these methods may be seen as a short-term solution, the long-term impact on the company's reputation remains to be seen.
“It’s sad because when people don’t buy this beer, I don’t make money, and I can’t feed my family. So it’s kind of heartbreaking, I guess that Anheuser-Busch did what they did. They don’t know their clientele.” -Distributor
Bud Light's recent partnership with Dylan Mulvaney highlights what not to do as a business when it comes to balancing their commercial interests with the pressures of modern-day woke culture. Companies are now expected to take a stance on social and political issues, even if it means potentially alienating a significant portion of their customer base.
Update - 5/14/23
I have drank Budweiser for over 55 years and regretfully I can no longer buy anything made by Anheuser Busch-I have never participated in any boycott ever, but this has crossed the line-I’ve always believed to live and let live, so don’t push this agenda down my throat-I will never agree with this radical agenda of today-so very sad😩
Who wants it, I wouldn't drink Budpiss if they did give it to me. We should not give in on this BOYCOTT BUDPISS!
